Savings

By providing care in the community or even the patient home, savings can be made by reducing the need for patient transport services, reducing the potential for overnight hospital stays and reducing the diagnosis to treatment time.

By attending a hospital every patient is at risk of succumbing a hospital acquired infection, which ultimately increases the cost associated with the patient’s treatment. By providing the care in a setting where there are fewer to no other patients, this risk is reduced significantly. This is why the government issued the Community-centred practice: applying All Our Health in September 2022.

A case study carried out by the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro, found that the average cost of treating a patient that fell at home, but did not have a fracture, was £1,031. Having the ability to diagnose a patient in the community or home setting significantly reduces this cost.

By taking the x-ray equipment to the patient, we are able to significantly reduce the cost and time required to successfully diagnose a patient. Time savings will ultimately lead to faster treatment times, which in turn leads to faster recovery for a patient and reduced cost for the treatment for the patient.
